Dr. Charmaine Palmer-Roberts

MANAGING PARTNER

With over 25 years of legal and human resources experience, Dr. Charmaine Palmer-Roberts, Founder/Managing Partner of CDJ Consulting, LLC, offers a unique blend of leadership, knowledge, vision and mentorship to CDJ Consulting, LLC. Serving as the Business Development Manager for Royal Banquet and Conference Center for the last six years, she developed a successful business revenue of over $1million per year focusing on excellent customer service, employee growth and engagement along with overall satisfaction.

Dr. Delisa Brown​

COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST MANAGING PARTNER

Dr. Delisa Brown is a graduate of Howard University where she received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. In addition to her role as Founder/Managing Partner of CDJ, LLC She is a Post-Doctoral Scholar in the Addiction Sciences Division at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a clinician-researcher, her research focuses on ethnoracial differences in treatment outcomes with an eye toward developing culturally relevant evidence-based treatments to better serve minority populations.

Jovena Gaymon

MANAGING PARTNER

As a graduate of the College of Charleston, Jovena Mouzone studied Communications and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Master’s in Business Administrations with a concentration in Management from Argosy University where she graduated with honors in 2012. Jovena is currently in the process of completing her dissertation to be awarded the terminal doctorate degree in Business (DBA).

Dr. Charmaine Palmer-Roberts

With over 25 years of legal and human resources experience, Dr. Charmaine Palmer-Roberts, Founder/Managing Partner of CDJ Consulting, LLC, offers a unique blend of leadership, knowledge, vision and mentorship to CDJ Consulting, LLC. Through Dr. Palmer-Roberts refined organizational leadership, the Royal Banquet and Conference Center has become one of the leading event centers in the area.  

Dr. Palmer-Roberts is focused on organizational leadership/development through motivating and empowering leaders and employees by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to be successful.  Her work is concentrated on streamlining how organizations onboard their newly hired employees  which impacts employee performance, engagement and retention. She is driven by the social exchange theory that argues that trust is the underlying result of positive interactions among individuals and organizations. As a leader, Dr. Palmer-Roberts aim to offer a transformational leadership style that generates valuable and constructive change within an organization

Dr. Palmer-Roberts has also held previous leadership roles to include as an Employment Compliance Specialist for General Dynamics Land Systems-Force Protection where she managed and facilitated employee relations matters, EEOC complaints and audits, and various trainings for both leaders and employees.  She also served as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.  She also has served as both a legal assistant and paralegal for both the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office. 

Dr. Palmer-Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina (Columbia), Diploma in Paralegal Studies from Columbia Junior College, Masters in Public Administration from the College of Charleston and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  Dr. Palmer-Roberts also serves as the Chief Operations Officer for A BRIGHTER Future Foundation, which is a local grassroots nonprofit organization that provides educational and athletic programs to youths along with various community outreach initiatives. 

Dr. Palmer-Roberts platform is based on effective leadership, employee performance, employee engagement and retention. She believes that leaders are tasked with the responsibility of motivating, inspiring and empowering employees to be the best they possibly can through meeting the goals and vision of the organization. Leaders are at the core of empowering and motivating the newly hired employee as they navigate their way in understanding the culture of the organization, the expectations and how they fit. Through strategic initiatives, Dr. Palmer-Roberts can offer clients the necessary tools and resources to help the transition of employees from organizational stranger to integrated member by way of a robust onboarding program. 

Dr. Delisa Brown​

Dr. Delisa Brown is a graduate of Howard University where she received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. In addition to her role as Founder/Managing Partner of CDJ, LLC She is a Post-Doctoral Scholar in the Addiction Sciences Division at the Medical University of South Carolina.  As a clinician-researcher, her research focuses on ethnoracial differences in treatment outcomes with an eye toward developing culturally relevant evidence-based treatments to better serve minority populations. Her research efforts also examine race-based trauma and its effects on substance use disorders. 

Dr. Brown is passionately involved in her community promoting mental health and wellness, including her annual participation in the Royal Missionary Baptist Church, “In My Feelings” Youth Mental Health Workshop, which focuses on building healthy relationships, suicide prevention and bullying and she has served as a panelist for the Charleston Youth Summit discussing issues from politics to school violence and mental health issues plaguing adolescents. Dr. Brown has provided workshops for companies and non-profit organizations focused on building healthy professional relationship, developing successful and productive communication skills, and work/life balance models to help prevent burnout. Dr. Brown is also a board member of A Brighter Future Foundation, where she serves as an advocate to ensure that the greater mission of ABFF is realized, including the empowerment, growth and overall development of economically disadvantaged youth in the community.

Dr. Brown is a trained psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health profession across a variety of treatment settings including; private practice, inpatient psychiatric services, outpatient substance abuse treatment and community-based services.  She is certified in trauma-focused treatment and provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults couples and families for a myriad of presenting mental health and relational issues. Dr. Brown is eclectic in her approach to therapy, but primarily uses techniques that help individuals and organizations explore how the mind, body and soul are interconnected as they learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes that will facilitate positive change in their lives and organizations.

The unique skills that Dr. Brown contributes to CDJ Consulting, LLC not only help clients maximize efficiency, efficacy and harmony within their organizations, but these skills help organization move away from mechanistic ideals of operations towards an holistic approach of company growth and development through the re-humanizing of the workplace via the fusion of employee and organizational wellbeing.

Jovena Mouzone​

As a graduate of the College of Charleston, Jovena Mouzone studied Communications and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Master’s in Business Administrations with a concentration in Management from Argosy University where she graduated with honors in 2012. Jovena is currently in the process of completing her dissertation to be awarded the terminal doctorate degree in Business (DBA).

As a strong advocate for education and management, Jovena has an established background with The Art Institute of Charleston, The College of Charleston, Southern Wesleyan University, and the Medical University of South Carolina, where she is currently employed as an Admission Specialist for the College of Health Professions. Her profession provides the knowledge and the experience needed to focus on her passion in education and her desire to serve individuals in helping them achieve their educational goals. 

Continuously involved with the experience to build her profession, Jovena provides assistance in event managing at Royal Missionary Baptist Church Banquet and Conference Center. Along with assisting with events, she assists in facilitating staff initiatives, and developed employee relationships to garner a better working environment. Jovena is also a board member of A Brighter Future Foundation, where she serves as an advocate to in developing a brighter future for the youth in the community.

As a founder and managing partner of CDJ Consulting, LLC, Jovena offers over 10 years of managerial experience. In 2012, she was awarded the honor of being inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, International Business Honor Society. In holding previous positions in management through her educational career, she has to ability to teach, train, facilitate, and educate organizations and businesses about administrative, decision-making matters. As CDJ offers unique blend of knowledge and experience, Jovena strives to educate and help others in their passion to succeed!
